Anja Maier is Professor of Engineering Systems Design and Head of Department Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management (DMEM) at the University of Strathclyde.
Linking the human and engineering sides in systems design with a focus on studying and supporting human behaviour, Prof. Maier’s research results have had direct impact on the design and development of automobile and aero engines, healthcare services, medical devices, and cleantech networks.
Prof. Maier is an editor of the Springer Handbook of Engineering Systems Design, serves as VicePresident and Treasurer on the Board of Management of the worldwideDesign Society, Co-Editor in Chief of the journal Design Science, is a fellow of the International Council on Systems Engineering, a fellow of a catech – the National Academy of Science and Engineering, Germany, and a fellow of ATV – the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, Denmark.
